I just wanted to point out that another option to convert older AppleWorks documents on an Intel Mac is to use LibreOffice. As of 4.1 it now includes an AppleWorks converter, at least for word. Converting Appleworks (.cwk) to MS Word (.docx) for use in Pages or Microsoft Word. My dad recently upgraded to Mac OS X Mavericks, and then could not read Appleworks (.cwk) files in Pages. That seems like a terrible blunder by Apple to drop support for reading files generated by their own program. But there are a couple of workarounds.
Note: Cc3200 sdk for mac. AppleWorks can use QuickTime to open a varietyof graphic, sound, and movie formats as well.
1. Open the CWK file in a copy of AppleWorks, if you still have access to that application. AppleWorks included multiple types of documents under this format, including word processing, database and spreadsheet. This is the best way to determine what data is included in the file. AppleWorks can be copied or installed to newer Macs without difficulty. It will run as a 'Rosetta' application on Intel Macintoshes.2. Save the file as a Word .doc or Excel .xls file, Rich Text Format (RTF), or as plain text, any of which can be opened in Office.
3. Open the file in iWork if possible. iWork can natively understand some AppleWorks file formats. If you do not have a copy of iWork, download the trial version. Again, save the file as a Word .doc file or Excel .xls file, Rich Text Format (RTF), or as plain text to open the file in Office.
4. Convert the CWK into another format with a conversion utility, such as Panergy Software's OneClickConvert.
